Novenco awarded Axima contract

08-07-2010:

After more than one year of negotiations, Novenco signed a contract with AXIMA in June for the air conditioning system for the new MSC Cruise ship build by STX France.

Novenco will supply 115 ZCR Air Handling Units in stainless steel and 170 CNA/CNB/CND fans.

All equipment will be manufactured in the Novenco factory in Denmark and delivery will be completed in May 2011. The new large cruise ship is to be delivered in mid 2012 from STX France's St. Nazaire shipyard.

The new cruise ship will be a sister ship of MSC Fantasia and MSC Splendida, which were delivered from St. Nazaire shipyard in December 2008 and July 2009, respectively. The new vessel will be the ninth cruise ship built in St. Nazaire for MSC Cruises.

The new cruise ship will have a length of 330 meters and a size of about 140,000 gross tons. The vessel will have 1,751 cabins, which is 100 more cabins than her two sister vessels. It will accommodate 3,900 passengers and have more than 1,300 crew members.

With the Novenco air conditioning system the passengers can enjoy their cruise with a maximum temperature of 24° C inside with an outside temperature of 35° C.
