Novenco has received the order for HVAC, cooling and provision plant for the world’s largest and most advanced ultra harsh environment jack-up rigs. Our customer is the yard KFELS in Singapore, but the final customer is Maersk Drilling with headquarters in Lyngby, Denmark.
From the beginning Maersk Drilling has been interested in securing HVAC equipment of Novenco’s usual quality. We have previously run projects with KFELS, and we know their working methods. However, we did meet strict technical demands and tough competition on price.
The time frame is tight so we have already initiated the work. The designers have packed their bags and have moved to Singapore for a 3-month start-up. Many more meetings will take place in Singapore, and during installation Novenco will have a permanent staff stationed to secure that everything runs according to plan.
The equipment will be delivered from March to December 2012 with main components such as Air Handling Units and cooling plant to begin with. The installation is launched as soon as in December for Rig 1, and Rig 2 will follow six months later. All in all, Novenco has budgeted with 240,000 man hours for the installation work.
